Disclaimer
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Willow Harbor Stone offers information and organising help for people who want to plan ahead. This disclaimer explains, as plainly as possible, what that does and does not mean.
Not professional advice
Nothing on this website, and nothing said in a conversation with us, is legal, tax, medical, financial, social-welfare or funeral advice. We do not claim to be a lawyer, notary, judicial or administrative scrivener, tax accountant, doctor, nurse, social worker, financial planner or funeral director, and we hold no licence in any of those fields. Where a step needs one of them, we say so and you should consult a licensed professional. Please do not delay or skip professional advice because of something you read here.
No promises about outcomes
Planning notes help you organise your thoughts, but they do not guarantee that a will is valid, that a dispute between relatives will not arise, that a tax is reduced, or that your wishes will be carried out. We make no promise about results, and we describe the service by what we do, not by what may follow from it.
General information that can go out of date
Laws, procedures and fees in Japan change, and each situation is different. The pages on this site, including the Planning Guide, give a general orientation only. Before acting on any of it, check the current position with the public office or professional concerned.
Photographs and examples
The photographs and illustrations on this site are there to set a mood. The people shown are not clients, staff or the operator, and the rooms and buildings are not necessarily real places connected with this service. The sample planning-notes headings are a structure, not the record of any real person.
Links to other sites
Links, for example to an online map, lead to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for what they say or do.
Emergencies
This service cannot respond to emergencies. If someone is in danger or has just died, contact the emergency services (119 in Japan), the person's doctor or the local municipal office.
Where to find legal help
If you do not know whom to ask, the Japan Legal Support Center (法テラス) is a public body that can direct you to legal consultation services, and local bar associations and notary offices can answer questions about their own work.
Using the site
You use this site at your own judgement. The Terms of Service set out the rest of the rules, and the Privacy Policy explains how we handle information you send us. Questions about this page can be sent to info@willowharborstone.com.
