These terms govern your use of the Willow Harbor Stone website and the planning-information sessions described on it. Please read them together with the Disclaimer and the Specified Commercial Transactions Notice. By using the website you accept them; if you do not, please do not use it.

1. The service

Willow Harbor Stone provides general information and organising support about end-of-life planning in Japan: planning notes, overviews of records and accounts, notes on care wishes and conversations with family. The operator and the address are shown in the footer and in the Notice mentioned above.

2. What the service is not

The service is not legal, tax, medical, financial or funeral advice, and it is not a substitute for a lawyer, notary, scrivener, tax accountant, doctor or funeral company. We do not draft wills or other legal documents, we do not give opinions on how an estate should be divided or taxed, we do not arrange funerals, and we do not hold documents or passwords for safekeeping. Decisions remain yours, and you should take any decision with legal or financial effect to a licensed professional.

3. Enquiries and how a contract is formed

The website is an information page and an enquiry form. Nothing is booked, ordered or paid for online. A free first conversation is arranged by email. If you would like paid sessions, we send a written quote, and an agreement exists only once you have accepted that quote in writing.

4. Fees

The first conversation is free. Any other fee is stated in the written quote in Japanese yen, tax-inclusive (税込), before you agree. Fees charged by third-party professionals are separate and are set by them; we neither collect nor receive them.

5. Changes and cancellation

Terms for rescheduling, cancelling and refunds are written in each quote. If anything is unclear, please ask before you accept. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement.

The text and layout of this site belong to its operator. You may read it, print a page for your own use and link to it. Please do not copy it onto another site or present it as your own. The photographs are illustrations; the people shown are not clients or staff. Planning notes that we write with you are for your own personal use.

8. Accuracy and availability

We try to keep the information accurate, but laws and procedures change and a general page cannot cover every case. The site is provided as it is; we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or remove content at any time.

9. Limits of responsibility

Within what the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that arise from relying on general information on this website instead of professional advice, or from a message that did not reach us. We remain responsible where the law does not allow us to exclude responsibility, for example for our own intent or gross negligence.

10. Links to other sites

This website links to other sites, such as an online map. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. The version on this page, with the date above, applies from the time it is published. If you have an agreement with us for paid sessions, the quote you accepted continues to apply to those sessions.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. If a disagreement arises, we will first try to settle it by talking with you in good faith; if that fails, the courts of Japan have jurisdiction.
